Abstract: Entrepreneurs are not born, they are made. Learn how to identify & solve the next big problem. Popular culture often portrays Entrepreneurship as a messy, hit-or-miss process, driven by a charismatic founder. Disciplined Entrepreneurship, which is a framework developed at MIT for launching innovation driven new ventures, presents a structured approach for the same. In this talk, the audience will be engaged in understanding & applying the framework in a learning environment.

About the speaker: Nidhi Sharma is a Graduate Fellow at MIT. She identifies herself as an "Electronics engineer and Entrepreneur", and is highly interested in the commercialization of technology that can help people live better. Nidhi also serves as an Entrepreneurship Coach for the MIT xPro online course. Before joining MIT, she extensively researched at TI-CEPD at Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology, Delhi & founded an ed-tech venture Ukhaad, where she aided hands-on learning in STEM subjects for school and college students using Do-It-Yourself activities and projects. She previously worked in the semiconductor industry as a chip design engineer and has also advised the Government of India on policy for Swachh Bharat (Clean India) initiative. Nidhi aspires to be a blackbox that can apply her secret sauce and solve any problem she picks up. She believes she stands at the sweet intersection of Courage, Skills & Goodness.
