Outstanding medium chapter award
At the annual general meeting of IEEE Bangalore Section, IEEE CAS Bangalore Chapter was awarded the outstanding chapter among medium sized chapters for 2018. The chapter was founded in 2005. Since then the chapter has steadily grown in size and has expanded its activities.
This year, we conducted 25 activities, an all-time high. Other than workshops for students and seminars, we held IDIYE 2018 for the second time and WinTechCon for the first time. WinTechCon was a new initiative - a conference that was completely owned by women technologists. It was very well received and we are planning to repeat it in 2019. We also supported a hackathon event at PES University. We did two events outside Bangalore - one in Mangalore and another in Hubli.
This was the first time we applied for the award and we are very satisfied that the IEEE Bangalore Section recognized our efforts. It has strengthened our resolve to make the activities of the chapter even more impactful and widespread.
